Senior Software Developer

Department: Interactive Product Development
Location: Philadelphia

Duties:
Responsible for individual and team-leading design, development, and maintenance of MEP Division customer-facing software products.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science or a related field. Extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of the software development process is mandatory. Specifically crucial are those related to early phases of product design such as strategic analysis, product conception, requirements gathering, and iterative prototype design and development. Must have knowledge and experience with current techniques used to develop interactive applications in an agile environment including, but not limited to, rich browser-based applications and architectures. Experience with multiple languages, platforms, and frameworks is highly desirable, though mastery of at least one open sourced server-side language, e.g. Ruby, plus Javascript and Javascript-based libraries for client-side scripting is of primary importance.

Duties:
Performs tasks to coordinate activity or provide information to management staff in the support of business and product development . Provides administrative support for Vice President, Publishing, and other publishing staff as required.

Requirements:

Must have excellent online search skills for conducting research that supports product/business development. Analyst, Health Policy

Department: Health Policy Analysis and Research
Location: Washington, DC Office

Duties:
The incumbent will have demonstrated competency encompassing areas such as research and analysis efforts in health policy, logistical and staffing support to the Health and Public Policy Committee, familiarity with the organizational structure and relationships of governmental regulatory agencies and congressional committees. The incumbent assists in the development and preparation of congressional testimony and attends hearings and other meetings related to federal policy activities. Additionally, the incumbent demonstrates the ability to identify, obtain and analyze information from a variety of sources and to answer questions on policy and legislative issues from staff and members.

Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree, which demonstrates a basic understanding of research and analytical procedures. An associate’s degree with two years directly related experience or four years directly related experience can be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree. Good writing skills with a demonstrated ability to summarize complex health issues in a succinct manner highlighting key points. Basic understanding of the legislative and executive branch of government. Basic understanding of executive regulatory agencies involved in public health policy.

Senior Associate - Lobbyist

Department: Legislative Affairs

Duties:
Advocates ACP's positions with members of Congress and their staff, and assists in the development of policy options and strategies to achieve ACP's stated goals and objectives with Congress. Consults with the ACP Services PAC staff and consultants to recommend contributions to various political candidates based on set criteria approved by the ACP Services PAC Board of Directors.

Requirements:

Sr. Analyst / Associate, Regulatory and Insurer Affairs

Duties:
Serves a as lead point of contact for individual members and State Chapters in resolving problems with Medicare, other third party payers, and coding for physician services by providing relevant technical information and developing advocacy strategies. Requirements:

College degree required, Master's of public health, public policy, or health services administration/equivalent work related experience highly desired. Senior Associate, Informatics and Quality Improvement

Department: Center for Practice Improvement and Innovation
Location: Washington, DC Office

Duties:
Serve as the primary staff focal point for the work of the Medical Informatics Subcommittee (MISC). Recommend, direct, develop, and implement programs to address the current and future practice management needs of ACP members in the fields of information technology and practice improvement. Provide expert advice and assistance directly to College members on the selection and use of health information technology. Advise and assist the Division of Govt. Affairs and Public Policy (DGAPP) in the development and advocacy of positions on legislation and regulatory issues related to health information technology and other technological issues such as e-prescribing, interoperability standards, etc. Provide technical staff support to the College’s Washington office departments, to relevant College Committees, and to College representatives on external Health Information Technology (HIT) bodies relating to issues on informatics, medical computing and connectivity/interoperability standards setting. Provide liaison between the Washington office departments and other College Divisions regarding health information technology (HIT) issues including standards development/selection, demonstration projects and practice transformation.

Requirements:
M.S. degree in an HIT field, or very extensive practical HIT experience, preferably combined with an RN or other clinical degree. At least 3+ years of practice management or clinically related work experience, preferably in smaller practices. Able to serve as a technical expert on informatics and on practical medical computing issues.
